Every man I know muslim or non, would prefer that his wife do just that...
with few exceptions of course...
Make babies, take care of those babies and her husband. that in itself is harder than any full time job.

It is a hard job. Don't get me wrong. There are few people I respect more in this world than hard working mothers. All I am saying is this really should be a question of choice, not religious compulsion.
A side note, when I was in the Ogaden I was in a "hospital" where this woman was doing everything she could to keep her little boy alive. The kid was malnourished. My medic was treating her. He walked out and started crying like a little kid (although the little boy did live). This medic was a twice wounded combat vet, a tough guy. We pooled some money and secretly gave her one thousand Ethiopian Bir. I'll never forget that woman as long as I live. A true hero.

there you got again mad mac. sometimes i wonder if you realy missing the whole point or you just been big-headed and stuborn.
you keep going on about "choice" when clearly religion (islam in this case) is the core issue of this whole discussion. but as usual you are ignoring the bases of this whole argeement cos you prefere we take islam out of the whole equation. and thats when we start having problems.
we are muslims and most of the times you expect us to trow islam out of the window, even if the issue at hand goes against the grain of our faith.
