Let us put the kaftan aside and address this issue seriously..I noticed that some of you said " Extravagant Weddings is Gaalo stuff".. Actually the Gaalo we live with are more realistic than the so called Muslims..Look around you and check! Look at how much money are the Arabs (Muslims) throwing away for a so called wedding!!! Kambuli, you make it sound like we all eat khat. - I know many do, but still...

We all waste money, I do, you do, everyone does in one way or another. It still does not justify throwing 20 grand on a silly wedding where hundreds and hundreds of uninvited people will turn up and some yo-yo ciyaal suuqin will cause mayhem. Even put all that aside, waa laga fiicanyahay in aa intaas oo lacag lugu bixiyo aroos hal habeen ah. It's basically all about principles and whatnot. I could not live with myself doing that. Nothing wrong with weddings per se, but you gotta put things in perspective and spend within your means.

I personally hate weddings, but if my girl wants it then I'll do it for her. Within means of course. I want to see her happy. Seeing her smile, will make me smile too. But these days weddings are so one-sided it's unreal.

$1,200.00 a month X 12 months= $14,400.00

So the wedding expense aka extravgancy will be almost the same amount of what he chew in a year and half
The sad part is, the wedding and its expense is done one night but the kat is a lifetime extravagancy
