Consider this, what prevents Ethiopia from demanding a huge tribute to be paid ? Puntland is in no position to say no.

Also no credible foreign corporation is going to invest millions and millions of dollars in a nation that has NO credible central government, effective national institutions, no legal courts and no national security services.
Listen fool, fack you and your government. I hate it when I see people say "There has to be a federal government", I say walasha wase, Dhulka anaa iskale, and I will use it however I want.
Zackabdul,

This clown writes essays where he fantasize about burning Bosaso to the ground, so I'm kind of shocked myself that he is worried about others embezzlement toward PL. This here is Somalis double standard at its best sxb.

AW,

Why should your opinions matter since you intend to burn PL all together as you have stated here at Snet time and time again?

To me it sounds like your against this idea for no other reason then the fact that it would better reer PL plight if it were to yield oil. That said, PL is going on its 11th year and it seems like it is still going strong, the fact is no other entity in the whole of Somalia has given more support morally and financially to the TFG then PL. Why? Because reer PL understand with a strong government in place the better off the whole of Somalia would be, especially when it come to bargaining with oil companies. The sooner the southerners put aside their qabiil-cap and but on their thinking-cap the better off the whole of Somalia would be.

Anyways, it seems like your against the TFG and if it is the fact that AY hails from PL your denying the TFG his time to go will come, your uncle for all we know could be Somalia's next president when his time is up. However, the federal government will continue beyond AY presidency and as long as it is such reer PL will continue to fully support it, and as far as our current federal government is concern the oil exploration you see taking place in PL has already been signed off by its president whether you like it or not. Yes, the two most promising oil blocks (the Nogal block and Dharoor block) has always been under Northeast Somalia and it so happens to be where the people whom were evicted from their home in Mogadishu call their own.

So, if you don't want AY since he hails from PL and the mango that grows in Jowhar doesn't directly benefit PL for qabiil reason then don't you think they have every right to tell the whole of Somalia to fukk off? I believe they do! And unless the south digs its head out its arse then PL has every right to continue living on by every means necessary.

"...in Bosasoo when the vehicles were driving through the main road, crowds of people where on the sides of the road cheering. They were in complete shock, because they had never seen anything like it. Insha'Allah this will continue! Many doubters thought this day would never come."

Don't mind these clowns and their fantasy dreams. Meles Zenawi is going to exact a high fee.

You can see the hypocrisy of these same clowns especially their President who avoids going to the Parliament to pass an oil law but instead writes a memo authorizing foreign drilling and research.

Btw, we have a heck of more oil and natural gas in the South:

1. Hobyo 1 & 2 Sites explored by Sinclair Oil & offshore oil/gas fields

2. Afgoye - explored by Conoco for natural gas deposits.

3. Marka - Offshore gas field

4. Ras Kamboni - Offshore oil/gas - It is miles away from where the Kenyans are exploring for natural gas/oil.

5. Waajid
if true, damn, we got the best land: ogadenia ("geological similarities to other hydrocarbon-rich basins in the Middle East") + NFD + jubba = huge oil & gas reserves = a lot of green. :D

I agree that the current warlords in power should not be the ones putting Somalia's resources on the market, but I still want to see some digging to be done -- just to see what's under the soil and what might happen.
