Everybody can smile and say "qabiil doesn't matter"...lakiin who are we kidding, if it doesn't matter to u but it matters to either your family or the family of the person you're married to, then THAT should matter to u. Who wants their kids growing up in an environment where they can sense hostilities between their family on one side and family on the other (eventually they'll pick up on it, no matter how much anyone thinks they're doing a good job of hiding it). There's no point, i'd say just keep it basic and either marry someone from a friendly clan, or else make sure ur families are religious enough to look past that bullshit.

It matters alot. I'm married to non Isaaq, but It would never have been possible for me to marry darood simply because that marraige wouldnt last. Hawiye and Isaaq can intermarry, since there has never been beef between them. Don't get me wrong, I dont' discriminate when it comes to marriage, but for the sake of marraige; all avenues of future drama in marriage have to be avoided like a sore thumb.
