On February 25-26 2008, a Somaliland-aligned, well armed force laid siege to Hadaftimo, causing a brief state of emergency before the force withdrew back to western Erigavo. Maakhir authority responded with a military buildup in the Maakhir-controlled part of Erigavo.
Hostilities re-emerged on July 9, 2008, when Somaliland invaded and occupied Laas Qoray port for few hours, under the pretext of a rescue mission (German citizens were allegedly being held hostage in Laas Qoray by pirates).
I figured that's what you were referring to.

First of all, as already mentioned Erigabo is the only place where non-Warsangeli visibly exist in Sanaag, Hadaaftimo was not besieged, I have family in Hadaftimo, all of this supposed information comes not from witness reports but a few stories fabricated in Hargeisa HQ's to get a leg up over P/Land. The Maakhir forces quickly ran them out of the city by amassing forces in the majority Warsan part of the admittedly 'shared' city.

Las Qoray port was not occupied, unless you call a rag-tag force running in then leaving in seconds after the locals made it clear they weren't welcome occupation.

Let me get rid of that real quick, such unabashed lies cannot be tolerated on a medium like Wikipedia

You people are truly savages and totally affect by the disease known as divisionism. We were talking about Ethiopia building a damn, but now discussing Maakhir and Las Anod and Sland AND Puntland.
