Again, I ask why doesn't Berbera have the same luck as Bosaso? Same shitty weather, desert location, etc. At the end of the day, its the people and the people alone that make Bosaso. I already showed you that a few smart businessmen turned Ceel Macaan - an empty piece of beach with no nearby roads into Somalia's #1 port and an attractive destination for local clients and foreign clients. You know as well as I know that Somalis don't care about the quality of the venue, they only care about low prices and getting the job done. To think Bari millionaires would foolishly skip an opportunity just because there wasn't a polished port to send off ships is silly. People from that region sent dhows to India going back to the 1700s and beyond, I don't believe the lack of some metal and concrete water parking lot would hinder them at all.waryaa wrote:monk, walahi bosaso (and Puntland as whole) would be nutin without the highway/port. This town is arguably the hottest place on earth and the only thing that brought people is accessibility (the highway) and the port. Punland has been functioning for a long time now and they still have to finish Bosaso Airport runway and tarmac let alone major projects. We can brag about stuff but the truth remains: Puntland is built on this port and highway. They are the lifeline - ask any1.
somali goverment money comes as fund from rich countries for example highway build by the china not siad barre...!!!waryaa wrote:Without the port and the highway Bosaso would be a barren desert. Without the two, most Puntlanders would be fighting in Kismayo today - credit should be given where it is due. Mohamed Siad Barre has done a tremendous favor for this region when he had the ability not to. He gave Puntlanders a lifeline and what you see today is built upon it.
I started to become a fan of this man
