This whole thing is very simple.

1. The girl has apparently been trying to get in the way of her father's career and that is why it was recorded.
2. Point one proves she is not mentally handicap just conniving
3. She is being punished because she broke the house rules
4. The house rules might be excessive in your opinion but it's not your house.
5. She is a teenager but the relationship between parent and child is not static, maybe she was racking up debts on credit card bills and she needed that whooping

I mean, my mother would sock me in the chest while she's driving. That's cuz I'd talk back though, I was a teenager and she just wanted to show me who the boss was. I wasn't only disciplined by my mom, the whole family used to whip my ass when I fucked up!
