12. The Kismayo Sea Port and Air Port Management shall be handed-over to the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in 6 months period; after which the Federal Government of Somalia shall appoint a competent management team in consultation with the Interim Jubba Administration meanwhile the current management of port prevails for the next 6 months. The Federal Government of Somalia will appoint immigration officers to all entry points.
Let me break it down for you:

1. The current administration continues to run the ports for the next 6 months.
2. Once that 6 months period has ended, the SFG and Jubbaland Admin will select a new management team. The important word here is "consultation". It means that both sides will gather around a table and decide who gets to run the ports. For some reason you seem to think that the SFG will make that decision on its own, please tell us how?
3. The SFG will place immigration officers at the ports, an excellent initiative as it gives legitimacy to Somalia's road to once again becoming a sovereign nation.

Both sides compromised however if anything, it is the SFG - which once said that they'd never recognise Madoobe's admin - who have lost this political battle.
1. Yes, Ras Kamboni will continue running the ports for 6 months. This is a good time frame. No rush. We need a smooth transition into federal control.
2. Consultation just means advice. It will be the SFG who will be doing the appointment as that deal clearly says. Not RK. However, SFG will ask for the views of Madoobe and Co. They will take their opinions and views into consideration. Maybe they will appoint a management team that Madoobe wanted. Maybe not.
3. I am also ecstatic about number 3.

Both sides won. Both sides also didn't get everything they wanted but both sides won. Like I said, the President at first was unsure of Madoobe because of his ties to KDF. He had no other beef with him. Madoobe agreed to be allied with the SFG and the President changed his stance in favor of Madoobe. There was no reason for him apart from the Kenyan ties to be against Madoobe. The President wants to unify the country. The President always knew Madoobe would be a potential good partner.

Glad this is over, this was polarizing the nation and reintroducing the rhetoric that lead to the clan civil wars in the 90s.
