Hibo Aadan is in her 70s and has been rescuing abandoned babies without bragging or profiting just similar to your aunt and raising them as her own, for the last 30 years - rescuing about 200 babies since then. At present, she has 90 kids living with her and has raised many more and has started 7 schools in different parts of Somaliland for those from very poor families.
Those that she brings to her house, she doesn't tell them they were abandoned - they learn that as they grow up and see her take in other babies - for she doesn't want them to ever feel the label of "unwanted", in other words she is their "HOOYO".
She has done quite a lot and all without government or so called elite people help (which she refuses due to the corruption she has seen) but funds and resources are two things that are always in need.
