One thing I regret is getting too close with her family . Sisters . Brothers and the mom and the dad all asking me favors and calling out of th blue asking how is my relationship with their daughter .

I dont even know them. They kept sending me pics and trying to chat with me. I didn't even delete the pics, If I was cheating I would've hid the pics.

Some women love chasing married men.
Lesson here is to have a conversation about what each party finds acceptable vis-a-vis social media.

I know I'm the jealous type so if I saw this in my husband's social media account (though wouldn't be looking in the first place), he'd be glad to have that secret bank account

What mistakes should those green behind the ears avoid.

Edit: and what pitfalls did you just not see coming. Overall advice?
marriage advice is like those multivitamin supplements, one just isn't enough.. don't overdose it dear :)
You don't have to try and implement all of the advice or lessons but it would be a shame to make the same mistakes made by others simply out of stubbornness.

Supplement your own life lessons by learning from others, you can't live long enough to make them all yourself. Besides in case you haven't noticed I am a "let's live happily ever after" romantic who actually believes that if you have a system in place you have a shot of moving that from an idealistic fantasy to a beautiful reality

InshaAllah, after I've been married for more than half my life to the same man I will write a book and tell people to ask as many questions and start as many relationship topics as possible. That would have been my secret

You shouldn't have kids in the first 3 years

As BnW said keep a secret bank account you don't know what the future holds for you two
