Somalis that don't speak Somali

Its true Somaliland kids speak better Somalis , its because the parenting is better Somaliland parents want to give their childeren a good package of language and always correct them when they dont speak proper af Somali. What i do notice is that Puntland kids always 90% speak with a reer xamar accent i have never seen a Puntland youth that speaks the strong bari or mudug accent

I don't there is wrong with some people not speaking Somali especially people who were born and grew up in the west who can't really help it, but there is wrong with some people who think speaking Somali is something badownimo and they try so hard to avoid speaking Somali because of their Inferiority Complex or they think speaking only in English language is ilbaxnimo. I tend to see this trait most often in FOBs.

I recall watching a video taking in Burco where the locals couldnt say their phone numbers correctly using somali words whilst they could in English. That taken place in Somalia/Somaliland I thought it was disgraceful to be honest.

Af Somali is so difficult to learn especially the northern straight accent, I learned Arabic as my first language and it was really easy, than English came natural, I was listening to Akon konvict Album in the 8th grade Just write the name of the song you want followed by lyrics on youtube and walaha!

I was getting straight A's in English ever since.

I understand if u were born or raised here and can't speak Somali, but what gets me is, Somalis that have only been in Qurbaha for 10yrs that act like they don't speak Somali.

Like u ask them something in Somali, and they are like "I am sorry, I don't speak Somali" with a thick Somali accent. It's funny as hell.
