My wife will be from my clan and Alxmdllah... my clan is huge and too laandheer so there is no risk of incest iyo balayo. the earliest common ancestors with my sub sub sub clan would be probably be from more than 500 years ago atleast.
I wouldn't mind any Somali from whatever clan though.
@whoever's badmouthing Abgaal. There is a large population of Abgaal here and wlhi their women are far from ugly. they have this authentic Somali look that can be just.... wow.
I have this Abgaal neighbor
if I'd ever marry outside my clan It's 100% with an Abgaal girl.

It's very interesting to see our generation trying to grapple with identities that don't matter all that much as the diaspora.
Looking at my Qabil, I have seen some of the best marriages and worst marriages. And the smallest of factors was Qabil. It really depends on the person you are marrying and the type of family they are coming from.
I love how someone asked what if you want to take your kids back home etc. As if raising a family back home is something anyone of us think about.
Looking at my family I have Darood, Hawiye, Isaaq and Dir littered all over the place. If anybody thinks my qabil is so great that my spouse or children have to be that they are delusional. If I could I would have half my kids take my tribe and the other half their moms. . . jk.

you mean habar wadaag? ilmo aayo isnt your brother/sister, aayo means step mother
Aayo we call mothers sister. Step mother we call Eedo. But yeah habar wadaag I understand too, and yeah I mean that. I always used to hear it isn't good, apparently the kids always don't turn out good. Etc etc.
I have never really seen aayo used, only as I grew up I learned what it means. My step mom I call eedo.

like what? are you saying you wouldnt consider another xamarawi if he isnt hawiye?
Like believing he's from Arabia then no I wouldn't go there
Thats not much more of a stretch from believing you are descended from a man call Hawiye.
How are you BV?

Qaraabonimadu qaarka dambe ma gasho!!!!.
According to Baastounit(2015) 80% of same-tribe-marriages fail. Of the remaining 20%, 83% are just marriages on paper and the couples are in other relationship. 15% are so called "qaraabo kiil" (mercy marriages) where one of the partners is suffering from a mental disease, disability etc.
