I am so sorry to put you in the light spot but your recent post made me dust off things i thought long burried. in my early teen years i was consumed my thoughts.

i had strong feeling of disconcert about some people i dont know or first time i see/met them. it's like a flash back like i know them in another life. i know it sounds crazy and some times we shouldnt expect to find a reason everything in life (my father said it to me).

so what do you think about previous lives and this is not our first existance. it's new experience and challenges and we dont remember our real whole existance . this is one of the stages we had to evolve and will continue.

once i asked my weirdo (seemed troubled cousin, religious fanatic. i am not sure if it's polite to call some one names. it's our need to give title) , why you think God chose ; ibrahim as prophet, Issa, mohammed AS all and not me or you?

as troubled he seems he said something stuck in my mind through my adolescent. he said; they were the ones whom obey it first, answer the God's question when we all where asked " Arent I your God?

Well, then i read more about that and yeah i found more explainations of what he said. and some bullcrap!!

ibn 3abas said explaining that Aayah " when God created Adam, took all his off spring that he will ever have until end of this word , put front of him and talk to them and witness them "arent I your Lord".

So some how some way we were mindful, understood and had some intellegence to understand and answer , old age question, to God.

Let me back to my thoughts, have you ever wondered what we were that stage? some of us were villain, past criminals, maybe reformed or trying so hard to redo it and use their past experience to better themselves no matter what!

since prophets and messengers were the good ones who without hassitations beat us to be first responders. have you wondered what was your rank or spot responding God's question? maybe we are in the middle or end of the list!!

just a thoughts i just wanted to get it out and put on to rethink about it. knowing what i know now which is not much better than when i was a teen.

In this case I tend to agree with Gegiror. This is not the right venue to debate as important and complicated issue as Islam's views on life.

The mention of Souls collected in the loins of Adam does not indicate past lives of humans. It says something about God's Omniscient in that he knew what was to come in the future and how many humans will plead ignorance of God's message and reminder. And For the free will of Mankind to mean anything, that for them to choose to affirm God or Deny his existence, this event happened. The rest of what happened and what happens till the day of judgment then follows the trail of that event. The fact that humans are born with pure instinct of faith that gets either reaffirmed or corrupted throughout the course of human life is testament that all are by design.

A good example is that Allah is neither male nor female even though Allah is addressed as male. That Allah has right hands, that a day in God's dimension can equal thousands of years of what we count as days etc. There are mysteries that will be answered only after the veil of ignorance is removed. To get to that day of clarity, one requires to have faith based on the evidence on hand currently(Islam) that teaches enough knowledge of the unseen world to get by in the years we live.

This is my opinion and how I look at things.

Ina Adeer,yes, the Qur'an mentions hand, is that literally or figuratively speaking of an ambiguous metaphorical (mutashabih) Qur'anic verse? Do you mean figuratively as the power of Allah or literally (read from Saudi sources like Islamqa that Allah SWT has two hands and two feet and fingers. They source the two feet and fingers from Hadith) that Allah SWT has actually "real right hands"?

There reason is I was discussing Sufism and Buddhism on the forum. It's the because the inner concepts appeal to me.

I use to put my attention on external things and rules on form.

^^ yes, it's your posts that inspired this thread. I always liked Sufis, Ash'ary, mo'tazela ideologies. true form of Sufism ideology is fun to read and to understand even if I don't agree everything. heck, I don't know anything I agree 100%.

I was just being more outspoken and dramatic .
being wishy washy soft with Somalis doesn't work. They call you innocent , miskin, pure . They basically see you as something strange.
