Joining the Arab League during that time was economically beneficial.

As R. Patman mentions in The Soviet Union in the Horn of Africa:

"The 'point' was both political and more specifically, economic. As a new member of the Arab League, Somalia rapidly developed its links with the Arab states and, in doing so, attracted substantial foreign assistance. This included an Iraqi pledge to construct a refinery, supply crude oil and provide a three-year loan to cover Somalia's half of the cost; grants totalling 234 million Somali shillings from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, announced in September 1974; a loan of US $7.3 million from the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, which also agreed in December 1974 to finance the construction of a new power station in Mogadishu at a cost of over 140 million Somali shillings; finance from Abu Dhabi worth £28 million to construct an abattoir, canning factory and irrigation scheme at Bardera; and a number of shipping and agricultural agreements with Libya, concluded in February 1974.

Carabtu maxay ugu yeedhan waayeen , KENYA, TANZANIA , ETHIOPIA all countries more stable than Somalia ? They would have prolly gained more in business by dealing with those instead of us .
What have we brought the arab countries ? Crime , refugees , piracy {syrian shot by gudhu pirates , biggest ship ever taken by pirates :saudi tanker gudhu pirates again , egyptian fishermen gudhus warsangelis again ..etc.ect }and qaat !!

Why do you think France , Belgium and Italy decided to join forces in creating the EEC{ today's EU} for example , now strecthing all the way to Poland and Romania? why ?
Why do you think the COMOROS islands are part of the Arab League ?
If Zanzibar were a republic today , it would have been in the Arab league as well .

There is a RECORDED Arab presence in Somalia , and an undeniable arab heritage , that's why the ARABS have accpeted Somalia .
My point is the economical reasons are obvious but by merely emphasizing that statement it looks as if you are DENYING the blood relation . I CANNOT do that !!

No shame , these people have no shame !

SahanGalbeed, rayigeyga ayaan ka hadlay, adigana waxaaad doontid oo rayi ku ah so bandhig ama ku biir laakin doodu mid qabiil ha ka dhigin. Just 'cause I am Mareexaan does not indicate that I think or operate a certain way, or have some sort of pre-defined thoughts. Only the the fools share this notion.

My previous post was based on the Somalia's entrace to the Arab League. No one is talking about the status-quo and where we stand in the Arab League today.

Somalia in the initial post-revolution era was still economically weak. Becoming a member of the the Arab League enhanced Somalia's developments greatly whether we deny it or accept it. Further, Somalia's main export were to the Arab countries. In 1965 (pre-Revolution), Somalia's export to the Arab countries accounted for 41% of the total export. Moreover, Somalia has historical, religious, economic, and geographical with the Arab world. It would have been plain dumb not to join at that time. Besides, Somalia was the only non-Arab nation to join the AL. We joined due our cultural, economical and religious (99% Muslims) ties. None which Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia have.

It is a similiar case for Djibouti, who is also part of the AL.

This is why R. Patman said in The Soviet Union in the Horn of Africa:
