you just failed to comprehend the obvious fact that the Somali language is mainly structured through pronunciation, just like arabic and manderin, and despite the complexity of a language structured that way, the Somali literature scripture facilitates it adequately.

we most remember that our language was only coupled with literature 40 years ago, and through time as new words develop the language and and the literature will learn to compliment each other.

For those of you don't understand, Somali is a tonal language like Chinese

Inanka = the boy/girl (present)
Inanki = the boy/girl (past tense).

is it not

inanka = boy (present)
inankii = boy (past)

inanta = girl (present)
inantii = girl (past)

For those of you who don't know Inan is used for both boys and girls however it is pronounced differently:
I-nan - boy
In-an - girl

I think anyway it is easier to say than to write it down, can someone confirm this for me.

Cumar you´re right, it depends on the pronoucation.

You could also say waa ina hebel± he is the son of...or waa ina hebel..she is the daughter of...

its common knowledge that Marehan, Ogaden, Dhullos, Isaaq BASICALLY most somalis are known poetic people, and its a FACT that poets are superp linguistics, thus makers of language.... thats why the origin of this language is middle Somalia pushing towards Ogadenia were these tribes live, and thats why the scripture was created by them too.

You are drifting of the main topic with your annoying ad hominems.

Arabic is a lot more logical than Somali. The only screwed up thing of Arabic is the writing system which doesn't use vowels (this sometimes leads to ambiguities, even for natives) . Arabic has structure, whilst Somali is a mess.
