I don't remember much but I ended up fleeing Mogadishu to Djbouti then to Yemen. Went from Yemen to Tennekkee. I wish I could remember all of the glory details but I don't. All I remember was being on my dad's shoulders and he asked me "do you know that sound?" referring to the gunshots and me telling him "yea, birds chirping."

Where did you walk, from mogadishu to the border?

I was 2 1/2 when everything started...my father arranged a car for us, just my 2 brothers, mom, dad, and I...we left my grandmothers with abtiyo and adeero. 2 of my adeeros got shot N died while we were still there. N Alxamdulilah everybody else came out safe. So we came to Kismayo, lived there for a little while till the fighting broke out there...then we lived in Gedo...built a house there...my brother and sister were born there...then the fight started A-GAIN....so my father arranged a bus for us this time, not a car. We had to ride with all of these people...and eventually we came to Nairobi safely Alxamdulilah...we had plenty of family that lived there marka...marka we were giving a place to stay in Mombasa...then moved to Malindi...then finally lived in Nairobi....all together 9 years in Kenya. N the only Swahili words I speak now is "Kumamako, shooga, faala, jambo, habari?, habari gani?, masouri sana" LOL thats it!!!
