Salaam alaykum.

Let me preface everything I said btw with the fact that I don't think they're is a worse practicing Muslim than Me, and I am not 'acting Religious' or acting like I'm somebody who has knowledge because I have zero. I just have Gheera like a lot of people do when it comes to the Deen, and the statements this sister makes are 3adeem.

That said, the 4 Madaahib gave us a path to follow Quran/Sunnah as those 4 Imams were righteous and even more importantly were worshipping upon clear knowledge. However the Imams had different opinions, the Sahaba Ridwaanulaahi 3alayhim had different opinions all when it came to issues of Fiqh, however their Aqeeda was 1 and there was never a disagreement amongst them in issues relating to Aqeeda. Unfortunately today many Muslims think that it is okay for our Aqeeda to be different, and this will lead Muslims to destruction.

Nobody should be attacked for their religious beliefs.

Got to love the irony though. An immigrant war veteran being discriminated by a white American who never fought for his country. That must have stung.

@E-sista, strange fatwa that is. Wouldn't it be more apt to encourage hijrah? The land of Allah is expanse.

but as long as one puts his/her trust in Allah, nothing bad will happen; and in worst case scenario if it happens then that is your Qadar and we should accept the good and the bad that comes with it.
I've never understood this way of thinking.

Brother, what don't you understand? Qadr of Allah is part of the six pillars of Imaan. Whatever good that comes your way you have to thank Allah SWT and whatever bad comes your way you must bear it with patience, accepting your Lord's divine decree.

This is the true test of a believer (not saying I come even remotely close to being a grateful or patient servant)

I'm not sure if that way of thinking is the proper interpretation of Qadr, which is difficult in and of itself to understand.

"Trust in Allah and nothing bad will happen, but if something bad happens accept it because it's from Allah". I dunno, doesn't make you scratch your head?

Alpha, I learned long time that sometimes one has to put intellect aside and just accept religious concept , for I am human and cannot fully grasp the Wisdom of God.

Alpha-

The way I have understood qadar and the way majority of times it has been explained to me is thus: there are things that are predistined and there is free will and choice. For example when you will be born, die, etc are predestined. You don't have free will over this. But in life, you have choices and free will to choose between them. Whether you go to school today or not whether you choose to pray today or not. When it is said "it is written for you," it means Allah (swt) is so powerful and can already see the choices you will make in the future. You have made this choices in present times but Allah has foreseen you would choose this and wrote this in your book.

Alltogether that comes under the word Qadar and Qadar can be changed with dua. So if you make the choice to pray then Allah (swt) will make certain good choices easier for you to take which contributes to your good.

Dude.

Everything is pre destined. But we are ignorant of our futures. There's no such thing as free will as everything is in the will of Allah. But since we're ignorant of the future we have to make choices since we have no clue how things will turn out.

To say Allah SWT hasn't pre destined everything is kufr. Allah is the creator of time and space and is not bound by it.

I believe there are some things you've misunderstood when it comes to Qadr.

Nonetheless, the pen has been lifted and the ink has dried.

If the conclusion of Mr.Yahya's lecture is that "everything is predestined", I'd rather not.
