According to proffessor Ghandi, Marexaan in the early 20th century were part of Harti in Kismaayo.

Harti and Marexaan did not border each other in Waamo at all. The only clans that bordered them were Maqabul and MZ.

The Marehan in Kismayo city, not in the rest of Jubas, did use the Harti umbrella for a bit. Ghandi isn't lying. Harti meant confederation, a lot of qabils were under it then Harti Koombe monopolized on it, and the other clans stopped using the name. It was like saying we are Barawe, and then having an actual clan named Barawe in the mix who end up capitalizing on it.
