Hispanic/Latino = American term used to describe people of Hispanic (Spanish) ancestry
African/American = American term used to describe blacks of African ancestry.

you also missed the point. South Americans of spanish ancestry don't look at themselves as Hispanic/Latino. They are Chilean, Colombian, Argentininian, Uruguayan, Venezuelan first and foremost. They all speak spanish of different variations depending on where you live on the continent. The point is the terminology of Latino/Hispanic doesn't exist simply because it is an english word....it doesn't exist in Latino culture period.

E! Latin America is a geo-political term, really has no baring to race as all the orginal inhabitants of Central and Southern Americas are Amerindian. Aside from the mestizos, basterdized offsprings, there really isnt a sizeable foreign population in both CA and SA. You know fock all bout my history son. I'm not mestizo (native indian and european ancestry). East Indian and North American Indians are different peoples. East Indians were never employed by whites or Europeans for slavery in the New World.
