One of my parents is from harar region/province and also the city.
What do I know about them?
They’re a mixed group of people that share the same language & culture…. When I say mixed group I mean Somali, Amhara, Oromo etc. some are even linked to being Turkish, and Arabs etc.
There is “sizeable” somali population there. .With some somalis they know that they are straight up somali. With other somalis their back ground is kinda hazy and mixed because they have been living and marrying from Harari people for many, many generations . So some will consider themselves somalis and some will not, which makes sense.
Majority are muslims. Really Nice bunch. I think someone in the thread said that Christians are not allowed in the city of harar?? Not true . there are Christians that live there, but i don't know if they're are harari though, possibly. The Christians are probably a mixed group to, and small.

I think somali food is great. But I think the best food is Somali,Harari and Western food combined
As for Music. I didn’ listen to your clip, because I have speaker problems. personally I don’t really listen to harari music .one my siblings does . if you enjoy their music maybe I’ll find a list for you.might take awhile though.....
