In general, acts of worship are xaraam until they are explicitly stated xalaal by Sunna. Everything else that is not aspects of worship is xalaal until explicitly stated or proven to be xaraam. For example, in the Quran explicitly says anal sex is xaraam so if oral sex is xaraam why would it not be stated in a hadith or Sunna?

So if I decide to do a certain worship it must be proven to be xalaal before I can do it. But if I decide to eat Corn Flakes it must be proven xaraam before I stop it.

There are some things that the Prophet (saw) never used to bring up and some times people would ask him about them and he said: "Don't ask me about those things I don't mention b/c if you ask me I will pass a ruling (saying it is xaraam) and you will not be able to abide by it."

Many scholars say this is one of those grey areas of things that are between the husband and wife anyways.

So to say something is xaraam requires a HIGH burden of proof.........you just can't drop "xaraam" on things you don't know for sure.

There are private things between a husband and wife nobody would (or should) know about and this is perhaps one of those things.
