The somali flag was created by the Italian goverment during its years 1935-1944 when the Italians held all somalia together.
You can even find alot of Italian literature on the somali flag, this Majeerteen dhuuso and kuumbo myth that some Cawaale Futoole created the Somali flag is bogus.

The flag was designed by isticmaarka. The script was suggested, encouraged and financed by non-Muslims (Italians and others).
