Wearing white dresses, doesn't mean you are a non-Muslim. Get the heck outta here with that garbage!

Re: somali weddings
White gown is the most common dress worn by Christian brides worldwide. It came into being because people thought that it represented purity, affluence and virginity.

Re: somali weddings
and about the ring this will shock u even more
a bridegroom would slide the ring part way up his bride's thumb, index and middle finger, saying "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost" as he passed each one. He then put the ring on the next available finger - the third finger of the left hand.
stugfurallah... so they wear the ring on the third finger because the others stand for, the father.,son, and holy ghost..... SO TRY TELL ME THAT THIS IS AN ISLAMIC THING...??

Re: somali weddings
The white gown was invented by Christians; it's a Christian culture. Any Muslim bride who wears such a white gown is imitating Christians. Islam teaches not to imitate Christians or non-Muslims.

Re: somali weddings
I was told there was a reer Xamar cadcad wedding in Boston where they did everything from the white gown to the ring and then popped a bottle of Champagne and, chin chin, the bride and groom gulped down and everybody was cheering
