What profession is usually prone to inheritance?

Professions and careers that are passed to children are mostly the trivial ones that don't need ingenuity, knowledge or are not even thought provoking such as Actors, Footballers etc etc, granted that they may or may not flop, but they sure will try.

Why can't the others persuade their children to follow their foot steps?

A lot of people I know joined the military because their father or uncle was a soldier{ both noble , giving back to the community , bigger than myself type of career}
