The Somalis (a few Bantu and others not withstanding) are essentiallyoneethnic group. The clan divisions are not tribal (i.e. ethnic) ut rather just that, extended family lineage that, as it once did in Scottland, have developed into socio-political groupings. But Haber Gedir and Hawadle are not two seperate ethnic groups. They are sub-clans from the same ethnic group.

i have always been apposed to the use of the word "Tribe"

tribe is usually associated with africa, and has conotations of a savage and
primitive culture.

the tribes in africa are essentially ethnic groups.

serbs, slovenians would also be tribes alng with albanians latvians etc etc,
just like yoruba ethnic group instead of a tribe, fur ethnic group,
zulu/ngoni ethnic group, etc etc etc.
