SOMALI REPUBLIC ENGAGES EAST AFRICA SECURITY AND TELECOM, LTD.
Today H. E. Abdinur Darman, President of the Somali Republic (www.somaligovernment.org), announced the engagement of the East Africa Security and Telecom, Ltd. ("EAST") to provide telecommunication and security services to the Somali Republic.
President Darman stated: "This new telecommunications network will significantly increase our country's international telephone connectivity as well as provide high speed Internet access; VoIP telephony (Voice over Internet); streaming of news, video and music; and open access to distance learning, including connectivity to international medical and educational facilities."
In addition, EAST has been engaged to: establish a National Security Center; provide perimeter and facility security systems and services; including border, diplomatic, and maritime security; provide tracking services, including vehicles, ships, and high value assets.
EAST is a joint venture of Somali Global Technologies, Ltd. of Mogadishu and Newport Global Technologies, Inc.(www.newglotec.com) of Newport, Rhode Island.
