Why do Somali families seem to push the older sisters when they see an potential guurdon ?

I am puzzled when I am sitting back, sipping tea and enjoying the good food given to all guurdons as a part of the sasaab/ciida baaro/xeyasiin when all of a sudden you see the stunning younger sister.

The family keeps on promoting Heblaaye when you can't keep your mind off Heblaaye # 5 born in 1987.

Is it wrong to desire the younger one ? Why do they assume u would be interested in her older sister ?

What tips can you give a guurdoon like me to avoid the older sister incase of a potential hot younger sister ?

Am I focked up to be thinking like this ?

Introduce the older sister to your older brother or other male relative? What attracts you to the younger one, if I may ask you...

X(your age) divide by 2 + 7.

so for example if you're 30, devide 2, 15+7= 22.


meaning, if she's younger than 22, don't go near her.

Younger girls are always better looking than their beat up older sisters. To avoid marrying the uglier older sister requires some patience. Don't rush to anything.

In this case, the older sister is 28. The one I am fond of is 20 but comes across as a mature 25. Her older sister's attitude is not as nice as the younger one.

In case after case, I always meet the older and often uglier sister.

You can't go through the family channels. In order to buck this powerful tradition, you have to develop the relationship outside of the influences of the parents until she is head over heels for you, then you tell the parents you both are madly in love and must get married ASAP.

If they feel the tradition can be preserved then you don't stand a chance and they will ask you to strike up conversation w/ the older one.

Well if beauty is such a major concern, before you even consider getting to know any girl, just take a look at their parents, if they are decently good looking---hopefully their offsprings will be the same. If your abti or adeer Mr Yalaxo looks ugly, then you get what you see :-)
