Come to think of it, I think the incident happened at close near the Straits of Hormuz.... close to Iranian waters. Maybe the Iranians thought American battleships were ready to attack them, but weren't sure, therefore wanted to find out? Who knows what happen out there! However, this type of news would only help the need of media continue on demonizing the Iranians.
