The PC is still there and active. I may be wrong, but I think Somalia is still the only country that ever asked us to leave.

It's just that the military has become so dominant.

The whole greenhouse effect seems to be a punishment from Allah. Projections have East Africa continuing to experience intense drought, South Asia continuing to experience devastating floods because of global Sea rise. I talked to older relatives of mine who grew up in Gedo and they told me abaar was very rare. Rainfall was tremendous, and it would rain at months at a time like it does in Lower Jubba. Now the region is hit by drought some years. There was some coastal restoration done by the previous regime, but with no Gov don't be suprised to see Somalias long coast to be devasted by natural disasters.

Do you think that sort of "soft power" can be restored anytime soon ?

Our beloved nation has become very disliked across the globe over the past 7 years. Soft power (aid projects, scholarship programs, diplomacy etc) can be just as effective or even better than hard power (military).

My personal distaste for our beloved country's administrative policies go back much further than the last seven years.

What can happen is going to depend on who wins at the next election, what sort of madate (s)he gets, and how much support (s)he can find in the Congress.

You already know who I have picked as the candidate most likely to be able to bring about change.

In that case,i think ad-Dajjal will have many somali followers because the first thing they ask him is: give us rain.He will give them what they need in change for their submission and belief in him.

Who do u think will bring change ? Who can fight the special interests that are deeply entrenched in the system ?

The current administration and to an extent the one before it have put us into so many positions that are hard to get out of. We are a global empire and any retreat will be played on as a weakness.

I intend to vote for Obama because he reminds me of John Kennedy. I don't know that he is going to be able to change anything. I don't expect him to retreat so much as change orientation and methodology.

But the corporatocracy is very strong.
