Account yourselves before you are taken to account!
`Umar ibn al-Khattaab [Az-Zuhd of Ibn-ul-Mubaarak]
"On that day every person will be confronted with all the good he has done, and all the evil he has done, he will wish that there were a great distance between him and his evil deeds. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment) and Allaah is full of Kindnessto the (His) slaves" [Soorat Aale-'Imraan 3:30].
Ibn Katheer explain the aforementioned aayah: "On the Day of Judgment all his good and evil deeds will confront him, as Allaah, the Most High, says, 'On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions)' "[Tafseer Ibn Katheer] 1/338].
One may feel that after doing an action he will never see it again. Especially, if it is an internal or hidden deed, like ar-riyaa, jealousy, hatred for the believers, desiring the evil, etc.
"Knows he not that when the contents of the graves are brought out and poured forth. And that which is in the breast shall be made known" [Soorat Al-'Adiyaat 100:9,10].
"That which was hidden in themselves will be made apparent" [Tafseer Ibn Katheer 4/545] such that, "whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it" [Soorat Az-Zalzalah 99:7,8].
A person's day is filled with actions. Actions are done and forgotten about. Forget them we may, but it is them we will have to answer about on that Day. Allaah says, "That He may ask the truthful about their truth" [Soorat Al-Ahzaab 33:8]. If Allaah, the Most High, will question and account the truthful then how can the rest of mankind be exempt?
When thinking of commiting a sin do you feel any remorse afterwards? Do you actually implement the sunnah of rasululah (saws) and try and emulate how the pious salaf us salih were? Do you pray your 5 daily prayers as if it's your last one or do you continuously miss fajr just for some more 'sleep'?
Bros/sizzs plz contemplate on this and know that Allah gives good things for those who look for knowledge.
And (as for) those who follow the right direction, He increases them in guidance and gives them their guarding (against evil).[Surah Muhammad Ayah 17]
Let us all try and be better muslims insha Allah not just in real life or in front of your friends but everywhere even when you are by yourself. Make time for the quran, do more sunnah practises, and greet people with salams and include every bro/sizz that you see in your conversations so as not to make them feel grieved or like no one likes them.
[b]Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves.''[Muslim].
Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH): "Which act in Islam is the best?'' He (PBUH) replied, "To give food, and to greet everyone, whether you know or you do not.''[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
`Abdullah bin Salam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, "O people, exchange greetings of peace (i.e., say: As-Salamu `Alaikum to one another), feed people, strengthen the ties of kinship, and be in prayer when others are asleep, you will enter Jannah in peace.'' [At-Tirmidhi].
"When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. Certainly, Allaah is Ever a Careful Account Taker of all things" [al-Nisa'4:86]
Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "In the presence of three people, two should not hold secret counsel, to the exclusion of the third .'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
In Abu Dawud, Abu Salih related: I asked Ibn `Umar: "What if there are four people.'' He said, "There is no harm in that.''
Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When three of you are together, two of you must not converse privately ignoring the third till the number increases, lest the third should be grieved .''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim] [/b]
May Allah make matters easy on us insha Allah.
