Tuff Choice
Basra looked stressed out, an unusual occurance in her serene, unserious silly content world. Her forehead unusually sweating, her hand clutched together while her friend kambuli acompanied her for moral support. They were enroute to meet her parents, she was about to break to them about her contenders for a matrimony mate. Kambuli dressed in a disarming all black jalbiib, sat beside her whispering to her that everything was going to be fine. They arrived at home, to find Basra's mother sitting on that threathening separate single sofa, with gold handles. Her father sat on the furthest corner reading his new york times paper. Two of her aunts sat in the middle longer sofa, also anxious to meddle in the gossip that concerns their favorite smart niece.
Hooyo welcome, we were waiting for you. Have you chosen who is going to be your husband? I understand, you have three contenders. (she quickly removed her glasses, and from a document at hand, read as follows ) I see a Sir Luggoyo, a Sheikh Koronto--- She pauses-- removes her glasses-- Hooyo -- Mashalaah -- i like the sheikh one-- but are you ready for it - Hooyo?" Spoke Basra's mother with pride & pity concern on her face.
" Yes, Hooyo- Continue to read.
"Well. ..like i said. there is Sheikh Koronto, and a Voltage. Very interesting names, what is their backround?" Mother asked.
"Cough, Cough..You mean what is their qabil, Ceedo " Asked kambuli, interruptingly, in an accusatory tone.
Mother Basra gave kambuli a nasty stare, left eye, reduced lower to mark her distaste for her funeral attire, and glanced at Basra to get real answers.
" Well, Mommy- The sheikh is a sheikh, so i think, his qabil is irrelevant. I do think he is a sweet, decent g....
Mother interrupts her daughter..
"Yes, yes , yes hoyo macaan, we would all like to think every one is decent, i need the facts. What is his qabil, 0r their qabil for that matter!
"Cough, Cough, " Kambuli begins her sentence with a look of fear in her face, she was obviously afraid of mother Basra.
"Cough, Cough, -well Ceedo, it is a fact Voltage is a Marexaan. His appetite for Gedo city and Marexaan is widely reported and confirmed. As to the.......
Mother interrupts Kambuli,....in the midst of the two aunts laughing so loud, but leisurely covered their mouth with their matching color gabasaars.
" A Marexaan?? Caudubilaahi mInaa sheydan Rajiim! Bisiinka oo karimm, Naa yare--maxaa tidhii???? I dont believe we have ever had a Marexaan blood creep into our DNA village of relatives. Has it, husband Elmi Bodheri?? Mother Basra, spoke while glancing at the dis-interested Mr. Elmi Bodheri.
"Who cares? Basra, Caabo, you get me a glass of Lemonada please, " Spoke Father Basra. lol
Kambuli and Mother Basra were left alone to get to know each other.
" Listen, Kambuli, i want you to stop hanging around my daughter, you are a bad influence to her. Her aaf somali has improved remarkably since she started hanging around you,yes i appreciate it, but listen, that is beside the point. I demand you to leave her alone." Mother whispered low enough for the father not to hear!
"Cough, Cough.. Ceedo...I ..... I
Mother Basra-- interrupts her
"Hoorta why do u always cough before speaking??? What is in your throat?????Before kambuli could be allowed to answer, in came Basra with Lemonade for her sweet, doting father.
" Basra--so what is the qabil of the Sheikh, seriously?
"Hooyo, i believe he is Habar gidir, but it is not confirmed. He has been seen defending Habar gidir warlords, even going so far as supporting them more than supporting the religious renegade ICU! '
"Caudubilaahi, is he connected to Aideed???He seems very suspicious. The two aunts, again this time, did not bust into laugher, but began crocodile tears.
"Ha ha ha " Kamabuli forgot to control her loud laughter.
Mother Basra is shocked at the way kambuli laughed and scolded her that ladies were not supposed to laugh so uncontrollably like that. She was showed to put hands over her mouth and laugh slowly like a japanese geisha.
Basra's father decided to join in' the conversation, apparently he was ease dropping all this time.
" Sir Luggoyo, what a distinguished name he has, what is his qabil? Both Kambuli and Basra looked at each other looking worried, equally curious as the parents were and totally clueless. Mother Basra mistook that look for --a more serious outcome.
"Why r u all looking at each other like that ?? Dont tell me Sir Luggoyo is Arab Saleeh???
Basra smiled, and understood the humor in that question. Her mother was more offended by little insignificant small qabils than major horrible qabils like the majeertens or the habar gidirs.
"Hoyoo, i believe Sir Luggoyo is Cag dheer. We r not sure about it, he has managed to keep his qabil a mystery, but i suspect he is something close to harti, for he desires to retire in Kismayo one day!
" Kismayo??? Who lives there? I dont like this Sir Luggoyo already! Let's scratch him off the list, please." Begged Mother Basra.
" I like the lad. Bring him to us, daughter, i want to meet this Sir Luggoyo" Demanded Mr. Elmi Bodheri.
Basra and Kambuli looked at each other, not really sure what to do with this realization that Sir Luggoyo already has an edge over the other two.Kambuli quickly made a phone call and summon all men to appear before the Elmi Bodheri family for a brief interogation. What followed was something close to the spanish inquisition.
Aaaahh i am exhausted ......should i continue??? loooooooooooooooooool

Basra, wallahi you are funny, knows how to write, and a great fantasy. You should make a living of writing. Write a book where the main characters name is Kambuli.
