Lessons learned: Mogadishu Business community

I've always believed that this current Ethiopian occupation would change the mentality of Mogadishu people, make it stronger instead of weaker. The various segments of Mogadishu people have all drawn the necessary lessons from this period.
-The warlords/opportunists have shown their true face, they care for their belly not their people. How else can one explan the fact that their people are shelled while they themselves collaborate with the enemy?
-The religious pretenders have shown their true face, they are cowards who turn the world against Mogadishu people and run to save 4 star hotels in Asmara. Would Mogadishu people ever trust these cowards?
-The regional/international actors have shown their true face, they dont care for a peacefull and stable Somalia, let alone for the humanitarian crises they have created by sponsoring the Ethiopian invasion/occupation. Would Mogadishu people ever lisen or trust these regional/international actors again?

The most important lessons are for the masses and business community.
Hawiye people have become more critical when it comes to the forces leading to this shamefull occupation. The current situation have forced people to rethink what went wrong, and in this sense a stronger group-feeling is created. The vast majority now looks to one direction and agrees on the destructive influence the warlords and opportunists had on the various Hawiye subclans.
The other important lesson is for Mogadishu business community. They have learned that you should invest in the defence of your people and land before the enemy occupies you. Occupation=looting of your property, destruction of your business, displacement of your people (and consumers), distrubtion of your business traffic etc etc. Another important lesson they have drawn the last weeks: NEVER EVER hand over your weapons to another faction (paper-government). Always have your own military forces to protect your business interest. Never relinquish this task to other groups, in the beginning warlords/opportunists, then the religious pretenders. ONLY when a genuine state is created in Somalia and a genuine government arrives can they think about surrendering their forces..not before.

Talks are underway for the Mogadishu Business community to create their own security forces independent from any faction and only with one goal: the defence of the business interest of Mogadishu business community.
