you are more than a skin colour...warya..in Somalia people dont describe themselves as madow. They see themselves as somali then hawiye/isaaq/darood etc...this old lady came here from Somalia and she was shocked at how people are divided by their skin colour..tick this place if you are black/white etc etc.

One of my friends tried quoting Steve Biko on an essay about political participation in Africa, and she got a serious dressing down for it, the proffessor thought she was trying to be antagonistic or something. The only people we are allowed to quote are white theorists, anything else and they think its inferior. We need more Afrocentric proffessors in universities.

What a ceeb!!

That professor musty have something major up his back end.

I got A's by bieng antagonistic.

If my proffessor was a leftists i wrote heavily conservative shit,
If he was conservative(few are) i took the most extreme leftist position i could find.
If he was somewhere in the middle i would try even harder to offend his/her sensibilities.

I got A's for my efforts, when i didnt do it, i got B's even if it was well written.

Gurey, the Proffessor in question teaches development studies, and the entire discourse is Eurocentric...every economic/political model we are given is a European 'catch up...endogenous theory' bullshidh. If we quote the likes of Biko, Asante etc then we are called either antagonistic or they bring down the idea that black people can come up with their own solutions....They themselves (lectors) and the organisations the keep plugging for us to work in would be out of business if we thought for ourselves.

This is classic paranoia.

There's nothing wrong with being black, it's just the color of your skin.

Black people are far more racist than white people. If black people stopped whining about the 'white man' just for a minute, just long enough to take a long hard look in the mirror--- they wouldn't be were they are today. Not everything is the 'white man's' fault, it's time black people took some of the blame, and stopped humming the same old tune.
