I never had respect for ICU, but what I despise more is men with no spine and consistency.

For example, people in here know I opposed the views of Aweys...but at least the man has consistency and determination which only makes me to respect him and take him serious.

The thing with opportunists is that they switch from political line depending on the situation. Sheekh Shariif is crossing into this opportunism, which will only destroy the little credibility and respect he had from me.

Be consistent and determined in what you do!

SOmaliweyn, one would though your understanding of SOmali politics would be more advanced.

This is not about "consistency" but "flexibility" of political choice.

Shiekh Sharif is not on any list and has the power to be flexible in highlighting his real political convictions. Sheikh Aweys, Hassan TUrki, and the likes do not enjoy that luxury. The reason Shiekh Aweys has not even moved from Eritrea is because that country, which has hostile relationship with the U.S, offered him protection at a time when he is a hunted man and would be snatched if he were to venture from his lair.

The fact of the matter is Eritrea is playing a political charade gaming and trying to use Somali groups to fight its own anti-Ethiopian war game at the EXPENSE of Somali lives particularly in the Mogadishu area.

Shiekh Sharif, I believe is a hero for speaking freely and making sure HE and the objectives of the group he represents are not a puppet in the same way the TFG is a puppet.

The fact of the matter is Eritrea is playing a political charade gaming and trying to use Somali groups to fight its own anti-Ethiopian war game at the EXPENSE of Somali lives particularly in the Mogadishu area.

Is it nowadays a new trend to criticize Eritrea for supposedly using Somali groups to fight while Ethiopia uses more then 50.000 Ethiopian troops to do the fighting themselves? At the end of the day: 1 million are displaced, more then 10.000 killed, more then 25.000 wounded and this all directly by Ethiopians!

As for Sheekh Shariif, this has nothing to do with been on a list or whatever. The very fact that some are on the list and others not, says something about the US policy of neutralizing those that are determined and consistent in their struggle, while misleading those who are not as political savy as the others. This tactic has been used in every struggle against revolutionary groups, in which the most promising ones were labelled as radicals while one dealt with the socalled 'moderates' in order to weaken the group.

Aweys, Turki, Abu Mansuur are consistent and determined. They do what they say and say what they do, no double dealing, no opportunism (read: 'flexibility').

The Ethiopian occupation must be destroyed, or they must leave voluntarily before any talks can proceed. Sheekh Shariif is an opportunist for dropping this clear line.

Sheikh Sharif is going to run for president 2009 and will be installed with the support of US & Co. just watch.

Indeed they are consistent in their strong determination to destroy Somalia. They were happy living under their own warlords in Mogadiscio till the Americans made them marked men of terrorism.

sheikh shariif ,,he started from sheikh but he become politician..so the title of sheikhnimo waa laga qaaday ,odayga hada beenta ayuu bartay. he doesn't have my support anymore.
