Hadraawi is the most revered and popular somali personality, his the abwaan of this age, his integrity and humble lifestyle are rare in somali public figures of today, and his sagacious wisdom, zuhd, and his abiding love and faith in love of his culture, diin and people has allowed him to effectively transcend clan and has endeared him to somalis of all spectrum. No man can bring out 10s of thousands in djibouti, hargeisa berbera burco bosaso galkacayo at the same.

His words are often prophetic and what he says today is oftened realized tommorow, he is currently the head of the somali studies department at burco university and semi-retired from public life although on occasion he emerges to lead a peace march, or to mediate political disputes in somaliland, or end clan fighting like the once that erupted in daroor, buhoodle.

One particular cause he has continued to be active in is the cause of the discriminated gabooye tribes, his recent poem dhulgariir carries strong warning to somali society of the dire consequence on the horizon if this practice is not brought to end.

Sh sharif is new and a moderate voice in the warlord and extremist filled southern politics, I agree he has good potential.
