I think The most significant support that he received was from the habargidir tribe. That is what abdullaahi yusuf lacked and led to his downfall. Others never count whether they pledge or reject.

One think that I know is that it would take sheikh shariif all his term before he control Bay and Bakool. That is Abuu Mansuur territory and he would never get any support . Sheikh shariif can single to them all day but Abu Mansuur would tell them " hoobaa Shariif Raacdee, Naarta Kitiimbadee" and that is it.
