Should anyone spare some time and share a glimpse of this legendary queen from Elaayu, Sanaag.
Somali women in the west have quite lost their strong character and sharp thinking and creativity in weathering the storms of hard times.
If they can guard against materialist tendencies and creeping western values that would only cripple their society's long term survival and reproduction, Queen Araweelo's dreams will be realized to the chagrin of our enemies.
How to remember our Queen. Our enemies have rejected the authenticity of this Queen and her vast empire.

Re: Queen Araweelo
She did exist and her arbitrary detention and torture of men who oftentimes challenged her power. She knew that men were only the source of her trouble.
I believe the fact that we were a maternal society once as we traced our ancestors through our mothers can be an evidence of her existance. Otherwise, she won't be this famous for centuries upon centuries. It's a Somali mythology, some say as Sisphus is the Greek God of the winds.
Queen Araweelo was a real Somali Queen and she ruled the Horn of Africa long enough using cruel methods and policies to remain in power until she she was assassinated by her nephew.
