So give glad tidings to the strangers!

Post by Firefly »

Asalaamu Alaikum all,

Nowadays Islam is regarded as something strange and absurd. In the media Islam and Muslims are constantly vilified and ridiculed. It made me think about the words of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw). It inspired hope and strength inside me.

There's a Hadeeth in which the Prophet (saw) said:

"Indeed Islaam began as something strange. And it will return as something strange the way it began. So give glad tidings to the strangers”. (Muslim)

Who are these strangers?

The strangers (Ghurabaa) are those who testify to the oneness of Allah (swt), and call people to good.

Those people are always in the minority as history has shown, which is why they're looked at as strangers.

Allah (swt) says in the Noble Qur'an:

‘And most of the mankind would not believe even if you desire it eagerly’ (Yusuf 103).

'But most of Mankind refuses [the truth and accepts nothing] but disbelief’ (al-Isra 89).

‘Indeed we have brought the truth to you but most of them have a hatred for the truth’ (al-Zukhruf 78).

This religion (Islam) began as a stranger more than 1400 years ago in Makkah, and it will return as a stranger.

So glad tidings to the strangers - those who follow the Word of Allah (swt), strive to do good, and spread the message of Islaam.

We are the strangers! Alhamdulillah. So stay strong oh Muslims because Allah (swt) is always with us.

'Their intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it).' (61:8)
