MOGADISHU (Mareeg) ---Somalia’s president Sharif Sheik Ahmed has flown to Doha, Qatar on Sunday to attend the Arab summit that will be held in Qatari capital Doha on Monday













Arab foreign ministers met in Doha on Saturday to put the finishing touches on the agenda of the upcoming Arab summit due to open on Monday and draft resolutions to be submitted to the gathering of Arab leaders.




The agenda of the summit include the Somali, Sudan, and Palestine issues.






The president has only been in Mogadishu for two days. He held a press conference in his hilltop presidential palace on Saturday and told al-Qaeda to stop interfering Somali affairs. He also indicated that Somalia needs the support of the African Union troops until Somalia gets its own forces.

war ninyahow munaaqfimada iska daa,Uganda and Burundi are peacekeeping forces,they Can not be compared to the ethiopians as some dhabacyos or daaroodists would say.
Eithiopia is our archenemy and uganda is not.
They are doing good job.

oh,the difference b/w me and her is that she used to exaggerate and make excuse for the eithiopians while I am only reporting how the things are in mogadishu.

MOGADSHU (Mareeg)—Somalia’s president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed said Saturday they need AU troops until Somalia builds its forces.


In a press conference he held in Mogadishu the president said he talked about Uganda and Burundi governments about Somalia’s issues and how they can help the Somali government.


“AMSOM troops are part of the peace agreement signed in Djibouti and we told Uganda and Burundi that we want to build our forces and to reconcile with the opposition,” said president Sharif Sheik Ahmed.


He also said that they met with Libyan and Sudan’s leaders and had told them they would mediate between his government and the opposition.


President Sharif Sheik Ahmed said they will unite the former TFG government soldiers and the Islamic Courts Union forces.

The Special Representative of the Chairperson of The African Union Commission for Somalia Nicolas Bwakira welcomes the firm declaration by President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed that AMISOM should remain in the country to continue the important role it is undertaking.



The AU Special Representative who is on a two day visit to Somalia was speaking at the Somali State House today while paying a courtesy call on President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
