Yes I am talking about the Kacaankii Barakaysnaa.. no matter how one feels about the late Siad AUN.. we were kings..
I call it ..
I can write 100s of articles about it and how life was good for 90% of somalis..not to mention our collective sharaf..but i will just stick with few basic facts..
Most of you kids have not even had the luck to have lived in a peaceful somalia.. or lived as teens let alone adults..
Yes many ppl feel negative towards the regime, yes some qabils were mistreated, yes there was some nepotism..and all the things you can pinpoint negatively about the regime..
But few historical fact no one can deny are these..as to what happened and how things changed.
First, The Mjs were the first to rebel.. because they wanted the power.. yes the suffered some punishment afterwards..but more rewards even after that.. always maintaining at least 6 cabinet positions in the government..and many other favors I can list if any of you want.
Next, Isaaqs tried the same.. mind you they always enjoyed as much if not more than the MJs.. 6 cabinet positions plus few commanders in the army/police..
So when they thought it was their turn..they rebelled because of hunger for power..
Finally, the Hawiye..and only after having enriched themselves to the teeth and bone..did they think of taking over ..and thought it was their turn..
We all know the same men who financed the USC are the same who use to call MSB aabo siyaad..and collected most of the bettings/Gov. contracts. For free mind you...from 80s till 90..and became millionaires..again only to come back and oppose him..in hope of sitting in his seat.
Anyone/kid(most of you are..and only go by what your parents tell you) who can deny these facts..and think these qabils..lead by power hungry men who exploited their fellow kinsmen just to get to power..rebelled because of injustice and what have you..is either lying or in denial..
In conclusion.. he was a patriot..and a power hungry patriot for that..but he deserved to stay in power as long as he could..esp. when you compare him with whats left of somalia and somalis..after his departure.
PS. I have not even mentioned what good he has done for Somalia..or what we achived as a country..during his rule..of course with major set backs..just like every poor and African counrty would suffer .
RIP. Maj Gen.. Great hero MSB..
