School Reopens in Mogadishu!!

Somali children at school in Mogadishu 2008

At the same time the SOS Primary and Secondary School has reopened, but in temporary premises, due to the fact that the children from the SOS Children's Village are still living in temporary accommodation in relatively safer parts of the city. Despite the short notice and the interim facilities 150 children attended school on its first day of reopening. Ahmed Ibrahim expects that figure to grow as word gets around that the school has reopened

Sxb this is what we need, they gonna be the future of Somalia, and if there aren't invested in them now, Somalia's future looks bleak. send money, computers, books anything you can to educate the millions of somali children growing up without education.

Education so ma ah good job lakiin I personally got my heart out for Somali politics someone has to keep the country from ever falling apart again. A new approach to Somali Politics is what I want to inshallah bring to the table.

ps: I don't plan to join Somali Politics until I actually retire from my professional field of Flight Tech which will be when I am like 55 unless things change.

Don't you think you are going over board with this makhiir thing?
most ppl don't even know what Makhiir is and where it's located.

Somali future is tied with Somali youth's level of education. if we produce million of kids without education they fall to warlords and gangs, if you educate and discipline them, they will learn to be self sufficient and Somalia will have a great success, think the big picture, not a small minded one.
there is a program called "Somali 20/20" and that is by 20/20 to have all somali kids read, write and have good education. but they need hundreds of donations from Somalis like us.

What can I say I am a nationalist and love Maakhir

Any sane Maakhiri would know his/her obligation is the homeland, not lands who are not only distant but can't ever travel too because the future "kids" of Somalia parents and kin probably slaughtered there relatives in the 90s

I am from the most underdeveloped region in the Horn of Africa, it would be salt on wound if any Maakhiri would vest a single ounce of energy outside the region.

Go ahead and help those kids
