More and more black people in SA are taking over the economy, even a few made the forbes rich list such as Motsepe.



South Africa also has the fastest growing black middle class in the world, in a decade or two it can be compared to rich Euro countries economically.

Just because a TINY percentage of SA's population is living comfortably now, and a few skyscrapers have been built doesn't mean the country has no slums.

I went to SA a few years ago & the place was beyond disgusting [excluding the tourist areas]. I even witnessed afrikaans begging on the roadsides.

Slums in India & Brazil are heaven compared to SA slums.

This post just shows us about your limited economical knowledge, every developing nation around the globe suffers from these kind of problems doesn't mean they are dirt poor. Add to its not a welfare state even the US has camps of homeless people or WHITE people begging for food, does this mean the US is poor, no.

South Africa is going to be wealthier than many Euro nations in a decade or two.

This is an average neighborhood in SA, not even down town or a major city, just random.

yh i Know alot of blacks are moving into the middle class but alot of them are still overwhelmingly poor....imagine that the blacks ruled the country on their own from the inception of their independence, i doubt they would be the saME....its like ghana and malaysia, both received independence the saMe year but look know, one is extremely well off, the other is dirt poor? we are yet to see an african country rise up by itself and achieve success economically....somalia had hope but its political environment hamper's all its efforts...kenya has a good chance, good middle class growing their too but they have rectify issues of political stability and transparent governance.

african countries should look east to asia and follow their success, they have the resource's but it needs proper governace..you dont even need resource's, look at singapore, there are states which have only service sectors which boost their economy.see SA can only continue on this path because their political situation is sound.

South Africa is a memeber of the G-20, the twenty developed countries.
most daimond and gold minning companies are owned by whites, and blacks work there.
there are also a lot of Indians that own business.
they just took independency in 1994, so blacks are taking back what is there in economy and politics.

Just because a black man runs the country doesn't mean BLACK PEOPLE are running the country's economy.
Its whitemen and Indians who made SA what it is today.

listen people SA is not a developed country. It is not in the world's top twenty industrialised nations. If it is in the G20 then the reason is political rather than economic, just like the reasom why russia is in the G8. Come on be realistic belgium has a bigger GDP than the whole of africa put together

One of the world poorest and highest HIV/AIDS society is the BLACK South Africans. They have been robbed of their country, lands, natural resources and dignity. They also have extreme xenophobic against other ethnicity in the area, including Somalis and Kenyans. They can’t believe that a nation that’s been having immense problems in their home land can come to their land, and build something out of nothing (Somalis). Just recently the world charity and media have put black South Africans on the map, that’s why they have been getting hella lot of help, still though the average Somali has better standard of living and quality of life.

$495.990 billion - It's G20 worthy

GDP of Belgium
$454.283 billion - Almost there, but the EU is already represented in the G20 so no need for inviting dozens of small Euro countries like these.
