Taas mala soo qaadi karo ba saaxib. I heard(waxaan aminsanahay inay dacaayad tahay) that al shabaab allows women to remarry if their husbands are away from them for a period longer than 30 days.

Baas

Wasn't it Dahir Aweys who married severl hundred young women in Gedo to members of his militias without the blessing of their male guardians in Gedo back in the Al-Itihad days, because he considered their male guardians to be non believers.?

Al itixaad in Gedo was ruled by Shiekh Maxamed Xaaji Yuusuf and Daahir Aweis was his subordinate. If anyone did such thing, then it was the man above. I personally never heard of such thing but I will ask around since so many people I know were in Gedo at the time.

Qansa Muhammed Haji Yusuf ran to Mandheere and then later was invited to Saudi Arabia. Does he still live there?

They don't but this guy is a theological head in Somalia based on his knowledge and cilm. They have to give him respect. I wonder why he never came back to Somalia after 2006.

I heard about something like that but I wasn't sure if it was in Gedo or When He invaded Puntland. I do know When He invaded Puntland He said 'All the people here are gaalo, and their women and blood are all xalaal for us". As far as the moron Itixaads in Gedo, its plausible they did that. Each Itixaadi Had several wives, just like each Shabab Has several wives.

How many times I have to tell, Ithihad and Shabab are not the same, never been the Same, even the current alliance Xisbul Islam and Shabab are totally different groups.

Unlike the Somali traditional way, Islam does not condone forced Marriages, under the Sharia law, women have the right to refuse marrying men that they don’t want even if the father approved, also they have the right to ask divorce if there is a reasonable justification.

Men had always had multiple wives in Somalia that was something common through the history, I don’t know single of my grand fathers that didn’t had multiple wives, and there wasn’t such Shabab or Ethihad at their time, and today Somalia is even worse situation than that time, the ratio between men and women is the highest ever, a lot of men perished in the civil wars and the only way of avoiding adultery is to marry, women enter those multiple wive situations Voluntarily, remember if you criticize legal marriages you are only encouraging Adultery.

Sheikh Mohamed Haji yusuf left Somalia late nineties for political reason and since then remained outside of Somali politics, recently him and several other Islamic scholars were sent by the Arab league to broker peace between Shareef and the opposing groups, after several attempts it was very obvious neither one of the parties were willing to take the peace initiatives, and the Sheikh and his delegation left the country disappointed, some of the words quoted from the delegation were ( nimankan dhalinyarada ah iyana nama yaqaanaan anaguna ma naqaano iyaga).
