Ok people it has been reported in this article that puntland is deciding upon state flag to represent it's region and all people in puntland diaspora and inside puntland state are welcome to voice their vote for which one they prefer.
The first flag is new style flag however it does hold symbolic significance because the first flag has the frankincense tree which only grows in puntland to signify its uniqueness in somalia.
The second flag is the same flag as somalia that has included a crescent moon. Blue color and same star.
You can send all your votes which will be tallied up and the one with the most votes become the new puntland state flag. Please send your choices on the new flag of puntland to this address.. Allidamaale@hotmail.com or this email baashidheere@hotmail.com
Be sure when you send your email to the email addresses to be clear on which flag. If you like the first option flag be sure to say something like "i like to see the flag that is white, red, black and has the little frankenscence tree symbol as the flag of puntland" or if you choose the second flag be sure to say something like "i like to see the flag that is blue with the crescent moon and star on it as the state flag of puntland".
I tell you this so the person who recieves your choices knows clearly which flag you vote for. Anyways all north-easterners in the diaspora or inside puntland are welcome to send in their votes and good luck.
PS: By the way i sent my vote out thru email already and i voted for the first flag which is white,red, black and has the little tree on it. I chose that one because it symbolic to puntland because of the frankincense tree on it, as we know puntland grows alot of that stuff and has been known to grow,trade, and use it for thousands of years.
I also chose that flag because i like the colors, but also how it still has the unity star on the side which shows puntland dedication to unifying somalis into powerful force in east africa.
That was my reason for choosing that flag, but anyways enjoy voting and make sure to comment in the post which one u will be voting for.
