Somalia: Puntland delegation visits Sweden

A delegation from the autonomous region of Puntland arrived this week in Stockholm to meet with the Swedish government and international NGO’s.
The delegation was led by the Mayor of Bosaso city the commercial capital of Puntland, the deputy minister of interior and a Professor from Bosaso’s East African University.
Abdirisak Hared the Mayor of Bosaso told Horseed Media, that their visit was to boost the cooperation between Puntland state and Sweden.
The Mayor said that they visited the town of Örebro which is the twin town of Bosaso in Sweden. He said that they also met with the Swedish foreign affairs ministry, the international organization SIBA and the Somali community in Sweden.
He said that the talks which covered the development of Puntland state were all fruitful.
This is the first time such delegation from Puntland visits Sweden.
