Kenyan offers Chelsea Clinton livestock to marry him
By Kenyan standards it's a very generous marriage proposal: 40 goats and 20 cows.
The only question is, will Chelsea Clinton accept her suitor's long-standing offer?
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said it's up to her, the BBC tells us.
"My daughter is her own person. I will convey this very kind offer," Godwin Kipkemoi Chepkurgor quoted her as saying during her visit to Kenya earlier this week.
The 40-year-old Chepkurgor, who is married already, wrote then-president Bill Clinton in 2000 to offer the bridal dowry. He said he wife "did not object" to his renewed proposal.
He's counting on the secretary of State to play matchmaker.
"She promised that she will take the proposal to the daughter and I am now waiting," he said.
Oh, we are, too.
