Horta I do not get why liberals in the West do more harm than good. Look at this paper attacking the premise that low I.Q/lack of education leads to small average lifetime and chronic problems as "racist" (in fact putting negative attention on Africans and single-handedly reviving whatever cannotation they are setting out to dispel) when their own societies know the difference between rich and poor, upper class and working class, have and have not for majority of their citizens is because of difference in education.

The difference between the child born in Germany and the child born in Ethiopia is not any natural intelligence that would qualify the African as less bright (which btw is NOT what the research is saying) but the child in German is put into pre-school, head start, kindergarten, and finally rises up to college level spending almost a third of his life in school while the Ethiopia does not get the chance. You leave two human babies, one Ethio and one German in a jungle with monkeys and they will become monkey-like, period. We learn what we become and I think instead of creating unnecessary drama and shutting dialogu the next thing to do is question WHY the child in Germany gets the opportunity he gets and how the Ethiopian child can be given the same opportunity.

Ethiopia has the highest HIV/AIDS in East Africa, and one of the poorest in the world. bit about cleaniness should be thought our African brothers. But that doesnt give us chance to look down on them, is not like Somalia is any better.

Ethiopia ruined it's country because it became too reliant on food aid. Somalia is the way it is because of extenuating circumstances, Ethiopia doesn't have an excuse. Regardless, it's one region of Somalia that is in poor condition (Somalia), one is stable, but lacks resources and is incompetently led (S/Land) and one is a light in an ocean of darkness, a well-run, fiscally secure state with excellent leadership and near infinite resources (Puntland).
