Can Hot Tea Really Cool You Down?
i remember back home our ppl drink tea in the middle of the day...and i ask alot of maacalimayaa from america but this the anwer i got from..wat you guys think?
It's a tale we've all heard, usually in the form of a helpful suggestion from a friend. Whenever you mention that you're hot, someone will point out that (believe it or not!) you can cool off by drinking hot tea. The logic behind this claim, is that the hot tea makes you sweat and that helps cool you off. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? Funny how no one ever suggests that turning up the heat in your house would actually make you cooler, since that makes you sweat too.

You are introducing a hot liquid to your system. Sweating does cool you down but it's becomes counter productive because the more you sweat, the less efficient it becomes because there is no effective way to keep your sweat evaporating.

It's a very common misconception, and for some reason people also think that we use 10% of brain. WE USE 100% OF OUR BRAIN.SomaliGunner wrote:Amadeus101 wrote:You are introducing a hot liquid to your system. a hot cup of tea does wonders for me when i'm stressed out. calms me down and clears my head.
Re: Can Hot Tea Really Cool You Down?
If its hot outside, drinking tea or something warm bring up your body temperature so that its level with the heat around you...so you wont feel as warm.
Re: Can Hot Tea Really Cool You Down?
It warms your stomach and body, then telling by feedback your termo-regulation centre in the hypothalamus to not generate any more heat..thats how it will eventually cools you down.
