I have a local friend. His father is half/Somali and half/Italian. His mother is half/Somali and half/Eritrean. He's light skinned and his hair is very smooth and silky. Quite similar to me (but enought about me). He speaks Italian fluently, and speaks Somali better than I. He was born in Mogadishu, Somalia in the 80's. He's Muslim. He has spend most of his time with Somalis, except 8 years with his father in Genova, Italy.

Is he qualified to be a Somali?

Well it depends, in order to be reer Konfuur you have to pass many exams such as BSC Degree in Brutality, Two A's for buggery and rape and a diploma in theft.

In Somaliland you just have to be ethnically 100% Isaaq, Gadabursi, Warsangeli or Dhulo

Just because the dude was born in Mogadishu doesn't necessarily mean he's an original Southern Somali.

He's basically half somali, i guess if he's fathers father is Somali than he'll be considered Somali.

But since he's more Somali, than Italian and Eritrean, then i would consider him Somali.

Btw i have a second cousin, who's mother is half English, half Indian, and he's father is half Somali, half syrian, and we all consider him Somali, because he claims it, plus he has a qabiil.

He's a half breed, He's a bit of both if you ask me. Laakiin, in the Somali lineage you go according to your father's linear. So I'd say he is just as much Italian as he is Somali.

As long as he was born in Somalia and speaks Somali language the person is automatically Somali.

Two or three things make you Somalia

You were born there
you speak Somali
Your religion is Islam
and he got all three of them.

There are a lot of Somali kids born in America, and they can't speak Somali good, and they consider themselves Somali, just because they parents were.
