Asli Asli Hassan Abade was the first Somali female pilot and first female pilot in the world.
A prominent member of the Somali Air Force, she paved the way for gender equality within the military ranks.

Asli is also known for patrioism..she was accorded the codename Calansida ("The Flag-bearer").

Asli waged a peace campaign, encouraging lawmakers to come together and put an end to the long-standing civil conflict in her native Somalia. Attending every major political function dressed in the colors of the Somali flag, she reportedly commanded the respect of all the attendees.

There were female pilots before Somalia actually gained nationhood. Turkey had the first Muslim Female Pilot. Asli Hassan is HG if I am not mistaken.
